Questions? We have answers!!

All communication with clients must stay on the platform, including messages, calls, and session arrangements. This is part of the Terms and Conditions you agreed to when creating your account.

This protects everyone's privacy and safety, allows us to monitor issues if needed, and helps keep the platform sustainable. We invest in advertising to bring you new clients and rely on bookings happening through the site to cover those costs. This is standard practice on freelancer platforms like Fiverr and Preply, helping keep sign-up free for practitioners while covering the running and advertising costs that support your work. Practitioners who deliberately breach this may be removed.

If you’d like to speak with a client before they book, you can message them or invite them to book a free intro chat through the platform.

Working within this system helps us support you fairly and continue building a safe, trusted space for all.
No. We ask that you don’t include business names, websites, or promotional branding in your profile. This is part of the Terms and Conditions you agree to when joining the platform.

We don’t charge practitioners to sign up, and we invest in advertising to bring clients to the site. If someone finds you through our platform but then books with you privately, we are unable to cover the cost of that lead, and over time the platform becomes unsustainable.

Profiles that include off-platform branding or lead clients away from the site may be edited or removed. You're still very welcome to share your qualifications, approach, and story in your own words, and we’re happy to help you present yourself authentically while working within the platform’s guidelines.
There’s no upfront fee. We simply take a 20% commission from any bookings made through the site. This helps cover our running costs and allows us to invest in advertising to bring more clients your way.
My Wellness Match is designed to help self-employed wellness professionals find new clients. To keep things sustainable, sessions with clients who discover you through MWM must be booked and delivered on the platform using the built-in video tool.

We don’t allow off-site booking links (like Calendly, Acuity, or Eventbrite) or external video links such as Zoom for these services. This helps us track bookings, provide a consistent experience for clients, and recover the small commission that covers running costs and advertising, which we invest directly into promoting your work.

If you already run sessions elsewhere (such as regular classes or a challenge you’ve set up independently), you’re welcome to either:
1. List them through MWM and link to your MWM booking page from your own website or socials
2. Keep them separate and continue running them independently, outside of the platform

Many practitioners do a mix of both. They offer new sessions through MWM while continuing with their existing off-site services.
Once you’ve submitted your application, you won’t be able to make changes or upload additional documents unless your Practitioner account is approved.

If your application is approved, you’ll be able to log in, go to Dashboard → Account Settings, and update your profile. Just make sure you're signed into your Practitioner account.

Your profile will only go live once it’s fully completed, including your availability calendar.
We ask for a minimum of B2 (upper-intermediate) English to ensure you can communicate clearly and confidently with clients. If your sessions are delivered in another language, or you work in a hands-on modality with little spoken interaction, we may make exceptions. Just get in touch.
We accept massage therapists who are qualified to Level 3 or above (e.g. VTCT, ITEC, BTEC, or equivalent) and whose insurance explicitly covers the type of massage they offer.
Whether you're applying or already on the platform, each service you offer must be backed by training that meets the following core standards:
- A structured curriculum
-Real-time learning hours (live on Zoom is fine)
- Practical application (e.g. case studies or practice sessions)
- Ideally, feedback, mentoring, or supervision
- Accreditation or recognition from a professional body (e.g. BAMBA, ICF, EMCC, Breathwork Federation, Yoga Alliance)
- You must be insured to offer any services you list on your profile

*What about CPD?*
If you’ve completed at least one full training that meets these standards (for example in mindfulness, coaching, yoga), you may also be able to add services based on CPD or self-study. That additional training should:
- Come from a recognised or accredited provider
- Ideally include at least 30 hours of structured learning
- Offer relevant, practical tools
- Fall within your existing scope of practice
- Be covered by your insurance

Please be clear and honest on your profile about the level and depth of training you've completed. There is a big difference between completing a 120-hour live, mentored course like the Breathworks mindfulness teacher training and a 30-hour self-paced CPD course. Both can be valuable, but they serve different purposes. Being transparent helps attract the right clients, builds trust in your services, and gives you confidence in how you present your work.

Clients deserve to know what kind of experience they’re booking. If someone expects in-depth knowledge and later finds your training was minimal, it can lead to disappointment, negative reviews, and a loss of trust in both you and the platform.

This doesn’t just impact one person. It affects everyone listed on My Wellness Match. Fewer bookings, lower confidence in the site, and a weaker sense of community. That’s why we ask all practitioners to be upfront about their training and scope of practice. It protects your reputation, supports client safety, and helps the platform thrive.
No. We don’t accept short, self-paced online courses (like those from Centre of Excellence) as standalone qualifications for offering services such as meditation, breathwork, or coaching.

These types of courses can be useful as continuing professional development (CPD), but they don’t provide enough depth or structure to safely offer these services to clients on their own.
To be listed as a practitioner, your main training should include:
- A structured curriculum
- Real-time learning hours (live on Zoom is fine)
- Practical application (e.g. practice sessions or case studies)
- Ideally, some form of feedback, mentoring, supervision, or support
- Accreditation or recognition from a relevant professional body (e.g. BAMBA, Breathwork Federation, ICF, EMCC, Yoga Alliance)
Generally no, but there are exceptions.

My Wellness Match is focused on non-clinical, holistic approaches to wellbeing such as mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, massage, coaching, and other body-based practices. We don’t typically list talk therapists, as there are already many other directories for that type of service, and our aim is to offer something different: accessible, practical, and body-led support for everyday wellbeing.

That said, we do welcome applications from counsellors or psychotherapists whose work is clearly aligned with our approach, especially those trained in somatic, body-based, or nervous system-informed methods. This might include modalities such as somatic experiencing, polyvagal-informed practice, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, integrative breath and movement techniques, or something else along these lines.

To be considered, your training in this area should be in-depth and form a core part of your work (rather than a short CPD add-on). If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Yes, you set your own rates for private clients. For corporate clients, we offer a fixed session rate to give organisations consistency in their contracts. While the rate is set, working with corporate clients may offer more stable and predictable bookings, which can complement your freelance schedule.
If you don’t see the modality you offer, the type of support you provide, or specific client access needs reflected in our filters, just get in touch. We’re happy to add new options where they align with our approach. Our goal is to make it easy for clients to find the right match and for practitioners to feel seen.

That said, we don’t currently list certain spiritual or energy-based practices such as reiki, astrology, tarot, or crystal healing. We also generally do not list counsellors or psychotherapists unless they have in-depth training in a body-based, somatic, or nervous system-informed approach.

We truly value the role these other modalities play in people’s lives, but for now we’re focused on grounded, practical, and embodied support that complements everyday wellbeing.
Yes! As a freelance practitioner on My Wellness Match, you're in full control of your schedule. You can work as many or as few hours as you like, and adjust your availability at any time. Whether you want to offer regular sessions or just occasional ones, it's completely up to you.
We welcome a wide range of evidence-informed and body-based wellbeing practices. These include, but aren’t limited to, mindfulness, meditation, yoga, tai chi, qigong, breathwork, massage, and wellness coaching. Our focus is on approaches that support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, ideally with some grounding in research, established tradition, or embodied practice.

While we appreciate the personal value many people find in spiritual or intuitive practices such as astrology, tarot, or energy work, we currently prioritise modalities with an evidence base or strong roots in health and wellbeing.

We generally do not accept counsellors or psychotherapists, as our platform is focused on non-clinical, complementary wellbeing services rather than clinical mental health support. However, we do consider applications from therapists with in-depth training in body-based, somatic, or nervous system-informed approaches, as this kind of work overlaps significantly with our own focus on embodied, holistic wellbeing.
Yes, our site is mobile responsive and works on phones and tablets. However, some features may be limited on mobile (e.g. screen sharing), and there is no dedicated mobile app at this time.

We strongly recommend using the Google Chrome browser when leading sessions, whether on desktop or mobile, as our web conferencing tool performs much better on there than on other browsers.
To make your profile shine, try adding an intro video, a clear and friendly bio, your skills, experience, and any languages you speak. Use SEO-friendly keywords to help clients find you more easily in search. If you offer in-person sessions, be sure to include your location. You can also say roughly where you work and whether you're happy to travel (for example, "I can travel up to 10 miles from [town name]"). Make sure the "in-person sessions" option is toggled ON in your account settings if you offer these, such as massage therapy. Otherwise, clients won’t be able to find you when searching by location.

Mention your modalities and the areas of concern you support. This really helps clients who aren’t quite sure what they’re looking for. You can also tag any access or support needs you accommodate.

If you’d like to suggest a new filter for a modality, concern, or support offering, just contact support and we’ll see what we can do.
Yes, session recording is now supported on My Wellness Match. We use Pencil Spaces for online sessions, which includes the option to record when hosting a session on desktop. Recording does not work if hosting a session from a mobile device.

It’s entirely up to each practitioner whether they choose to record a session or not. Recordings can be helpful, for example, if someone misses a class and wants to catch up later.

If a session is being recorded, you’ll be notified at the start. If you prefer not to be included, we recommend turning off your video and microphone.

Practitioners are expected to use recordings respectfully and only for clear, agreed purposes such as review or catch-up. Your comfort and consent are always prioritised.
Yes, all scheduled sessions are shown in your local time zone. Just make sure your correct time zone is selected in Settings to avoid any confusion.
